If you exercise regularly then you already know that protein is very important for your body, without external sources of proteins, your body would not be able to cope up with the strenuous exercises that you put it through. And if your body doesn’t have the necessary proteins that would result in the formation of lactic acid which would cause fatigue in your muscles. To avoid all of these problems, what is the best way to get some extra protein, you guessed it, protein shakes! We will be sharing with you some of our favorite protein shakes that are delicious but also packed with proteins.

Drink protein shakes to get that extra energy for your workout

Despite the fact that proteins are a necessity, most of the people refrain from taking them. After all, if you have a look at the various protein powders in the market, you find them to be pretty hard to swallow sometimes. If you are tired of those supplements that you have been taking and looking for another way to get some extra protein, then look no further, here are 3 delicious protein shakes that we love.

  1. Vanilla coffee shake: This is basically a breakfast protein shake, and should be perfect for people that enjoy the taste of coffee without the harmful effects of caffeine. Well, all that you need is 2 spoons protein powder, ½ cup of low-fat milk and half a cup of coffee flavored ice cream. Put them in the blender and mix until you find a uniform, homogeneous mixture in front of you. Enjoy this delicious coffee shake that has all the necessary proteins for your body, you are ready for your work out now. 
  2. Oatmeal shakes (peppermint): For those of you that like peppermint, this is the perfect protein shake for you. Add 2 spoons of protein (preferably chocolate flavored), 1 cup of vanilla ice cream, 1 cup of oatmeal, 2 cups of milk and half a cup of water. For taste, add half a tablespoon of peppermint extract. Mix all the ingredients, and then drink up. The peppermint will be able to kick start your day with a very small taste lingering on your tongue.
  3. Almond shake: I recommend drinking this shake after an intense workout. It is a bit heavy and can definitely fill up your stomach till the evening. So, you can easily skip lunch if you find yourself full with this protein shake. The ingredients consist of 2 spoons of your favorite protein powder, coupled with 2 cups of milk. You have to add half a cup of raisins and at least 12 almonds to the mixture. For a more fulfilling taste, you can also add 1 tablespoon of peanut butter and half a cup of dry oatmeal. Mix everything and enjoy this delicious almond shake.

All of these shakes are perfect if you need an extra boost in the morning but they work even better if used when you workout, trust me, you will notice the difference.
